Michael Henaghan Magnetic Eye Records selected Helmet's seminal 2nd LP 'Meantime' in their on going Redux series. Featuring ten covers of the original material plus 6 extra tracks spanning Page Hamilton & Co's career, some bands here prefer to bludgeon their way through without bringing anything new to the table. However, it is the groups such as Kings Destroy, Livver and Ironweed that put their own stamp on things that are most successful. Kings Destroy's version of 'He Feels Bad' is particulalry excellent. Favorite track: He Feels Bad.

Greedmachine This is the kind of record that helps me rediscover Helmet in my late 30's while finding great new artists that are carrying the torch today.

The ENTIRE Redux catalog is superb.

mike sletten not a typical tribute album by far! sure there're some "pure" covers but most of the artists featured on the album make these songs their own. Some really great reinterpretations as well as non Meantime classics!

Nerve Salad Still not quite sure what to make of this. I mean, it's an awesome idea, and the bands are skilled enough to handle it. The material they are covering is SO great in my mind that I was skeptical from the start, so my bias is a little unshakable. Some of this is incredible, and some of this is going to break the hearts of a few hardcore Helmet fans. Just give it a while, and it'll sink in... I get what's going on here, though some are just not necessarily my favorite renditions of the original.
